go to this link http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v38/n7/full/ijo201423a.html Can you help me find a brief description of the research study to help me to identify the health behavior and target population of interest (purpose, methods, & results – abstract) • a discussion of the theory and its major components • a discussion of the application of theory in the study (including how the authors measured the constructs – what questions did they ask? • the strengths and weaknesses of using this theory in the study

This is my summery Obesity is a major public health issue because childhood obesity increases the risk of becoming obese in adulthood and a number of other higher chances of diseases becoming more susceptible. According to (APHA, 2014) one in every three children are considered over overweight in the U.S. and over 112,000 deaths per year are obesity-related. The purpose of this study was to find long term preventative strategy to promote physical activities in adolescence. They did this by doing several trials. They first did a study on 732 students from eight middle schools. Ninety-one percent of eligible students accepted to participate in the trial. At the 30-month post trial follow up, body mass index and fat mass index, were measured in 531 adolescents. The after affects when intervening were maintained at the post-trial follow-up. There are many factors that are associated with obesity. They are genetic, metabolic, behavioral, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic influences. Behavioral and environmental factors play a large role in obesity. For example, Dietary choices, larger portion sizes of meals, High calorie foods, are all example of behavioral factors that can play a role in obesity. Some Environmental Factors examples could be a person may choose a sedentary lifestyle behavior such as not playing outside, but they rather be stuck indoors watching t.v or sitting down in front of the computer. Because of this influence, it is important to create environments in locations that make it easier to engage in physical activity and have access to local food places for healthy meals. They measured the difference between the children in different schools, one was in a clean environment and location and the other was with very little physical equipment. They found that the school that is based on socioecological approach targeting behavior as well as social and environmental influences on physical activity decreased weight gain in adolescents. The ecological stand point on obesity indicates that interventions targeting determinants at all levels, including environmental changes offer the best chance of physical activities changes. Such changes contributed to reducing the gaps in social and environmental inequities associated with obesity.
