don't understand what this is asking for: -Use the thoughts you recorded in your notes to write a topic sentence for a paragraph analyzing Chapter 4, "The Cylinder Opens” from War of the Worlds. You will only write the topic sentence. -Based on this chapter, what might be the author’s message or theme? This is half of another assessment, & I don't know what the theme is of the story

Foreignness and 'The Other' The martian with tentacles like 'wet leather.' - everyone runs away because of its looks. Fat/free will - man falling into the crater.

The overriding theme evident in Chapter 4 'The Cylinder Opens,' is the notion of a foreign entity or the unknown, which serves to threaten those unlike it. Pretty bad topic sentence. I'm sure you can do better but its something to think about.
