It's like: You know how to drive... what's the need to learn the traffic signals? Software engineering is like theory about building software. You know how to write a program but you can learn more about techniques, best practices and conventions (basically others past experiences that turns into books, methods, etc). Knowing that will make you better when you 're building software in the context of a numerous group of people working together on big code bases.
