    order of operations, do the 4^3 and 4^4 first, then multiply them together

    not quite, you added them together, you want to multiply. so 4 times 4 times 4 = 4^3

    mulitplying same base to different exponent. 4^(4+3)-9. this is 4^(-2). This would be 1/16.
