I need some help with basic thinking! There are 12 cars contesting a race. The first three cars completing the race will be awarded prizes. In how many ways can the prizes be awarded? I know the answer is 1320 because you use permutation formula, but I'm confused as to why the order matters in this one! Thanks in advance!
