How did volcanoes affect the origins of the seas?

    The chemicals in volcanoes ( carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide) made the oceans impossible for organism to live in. Those would come out as gas and would condense into a cloud in order to precipitate into water (rain). It would continue to build up the Earths ocean.
