Even though someone already answered, I'll give in my two cents!
A simile is a comparison between two things with the usage of "like" or "as".
Example - "She is as lovely as a dove" or "She is like a dove".
A metaphor is a comparison between two things without the usage of "like" or "as".
Example - "She is a dove".
A metaphor is when you say that something IS something else, not that it's like it. Just to make that a little more clear :P
