    Could you give a little more data? Like what is the actual question? Like I have to find a perimeter where the area of the square is bigger than the area of the rectangle or?

    that is the actual question i have... "show that of all rectangles having perimeter P, the square has the greatest area."

    okay so let the rectangle sides be a and b so P = a + b + a + b so P = 2a + 2b Have you done calculus btw @scott_harkins ?
