    well, i used it because there were no less than or equal to signs and greater than or equal to signs

    Yes that's what I meant by `strict inequality`. This guy is strict \(\large\rm \lt\) This guy is not strict \(\large\rm \le\) Maybe that fancy word was confusing hehe
