01.05 Comparing and Contrasting Mediums You will complete an organizer comparing and contrasting the mediums of "The Tell-Tale Heart." View the grading rubric as you complete your work. This is your guide to a super submission. Part 1: Select the compare and contrast organizer and save to your computer for use in this assessment. Important: Immediately save the worksheet to your computer or drive. Reread the text medium: Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Tell-Tale Heart.” As you read, fill in your ideas about pace, character, and mood in the organizer. Consider the techniques used in the text, such as your imagination, descriptions of setting, and mood. How do these affect you? Listen to the audio medium: "The Tell-Tale Heart." 00:00 As you listen, fill in your ideas about pace, character, and mood in your organizer. Consider the techniques used in the audio production, such as voice, music, and sound effects. How do these affect you? Write your claim in the organizer. Are there differences in how the medium affects you, are there similarities, or are there both similarities and differences? What is your opinion? Write your responses in complete sentences. Part 2: Below the organizer, write a blog post to your friends comparing and contrasting the text medium and the audio medium of “The Tell-Tale Heart,” analyzing how the pace, character, and mood varied within each medium and how these differences affected you. Use the ideas in your organizer to write your post. Include all parts: Part one: Introduction sentence—Write the title, author, and your claim. Part two: Body—Write about how the pace, character, and mood affected you in each medium. Part three: Conclusion sentence—Restate your ideas about your claim.

But heres an example to do for claim. You can say something like I enjoyed this version meaning (text or audio) better because blah blah blah. So basically put it into your own words depending on how you feel. Did you like the text or audio better and exlain why.

For the character now: you would write what you felt the character was like when you read it was he nicer, calmer or write down what you imagined about this character while reading it was he crazy think about all all the feelings you felt when you read it. Same for the audio but think about what you were hearing and how it was different from reading than listening.

@KAKES1967 is this a good claim: I enjoyed the audio version better than the text version because in the audio you can hear his voice how anxious he was getting and you can hear the thump he heard. It was also easier to hear all the action that was going on because of the tone of the characters voice. It was easier to hear his tone in the audio because it is the character himself talking, in the text you can only imagine wht his voice and the tone and tension must be like.
