    is it `less than` or `less`

    less means subtraction if it's just less then translate the sentence as it's but `less than` means backwards a less than b would be ` b-a` and if it's b less a then it would be `b-a`

    there are 2 different meanings for just `less` and for `less than`

    first translate `the quotient of a number k and 5` how would you write it in an expression quotient means divide

    well the question doesn't say 'less than' it just says: Convert to an Algebraic expression: A number b less the quotient of a number k and 5.

    yes right so just use negative sign for word `less` b less k/5 = ??
