    okay so FOIL is a method with which you can open and simplify brackets so assume... a (b + c) so to simplify this you would do (a)(b) + (a)(c)

    your right hand side is correct however your left hand side isn't quite there, so when you have 4 - (x + 2) think of it like this 4 -1(x + 2) so what you are actually doing is 4 -(1)(x) + (-1)(2)

    i think you simplify by getting common terms together ....the greater or less than symbol is like a equal sign so simplify
