    The figure below shows a transversal t which intersects the parallel lines PQ and RS. Write a paragraph to prove that the measure of angle 3 is equal to the measure of angle 5.

    Since line PQ is given to be parallel to line RS and since 3 and 5 are alternate interior angles, we know tha angle 3 is congruent to angle 5 because if parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the alternate interior angles are congruent.
