anonymous one year ago Did I do this right? Rewrite f(x)=-3(x+2)^2+4 in standard form. f(x)=-3(x+2)(x+2)+4 f(x)=-3(x^2+2x+2x+4)+4 f(x)=-3(x^2+4x+4)+4 f(x)=(3x^2-12x+-12)+4 f(x)=-3^2-12x+-12+4 f(x)=-3x^2+12x-8 Answer is f(x)=-3^2+12x-8 did I do this right or can you tell me where i went wrong?

1. Nnesha

check 4th and last line there are sign mistakes

2. anonymous

but the end answer is right except for the sign errors? @Nnesha

3. Nnesha

no the answer isn't correct sign $$\huge\rm \color{red}{erro.Orr}$$

5. Nnesha

-3 times x^2 = ?

6. anonymous

I redid my work and got $f(x)=-3x^2-12x-16$

7. Nnesha

looks good

8. Nnesha

oh hwait no

9. Nnesha

how did you get -16? like i said before there are just sign mistakes

10. anonymous

at the end i had -12+4 ?

11. Nnesha

yes right so -12+4 = ?

12. anonymous

so $f(x)=-3x^2-12x-8$ is right?

13. Nnesha

|dw:1443299023462:dw| yes right you forgot the negative at the end so it's -12

14. Nnesha

i meant to say -12x not +12x so yes right the answer uposted in last comment is correct
