    well plants don't necessarily mate so I'd say water and food since sunlight...its provided for all really unless the plants are in shade...but how could they compete?

    undoubtedly , it's Water .Cuz , sunlight is important but we don't need to compete for it .On the other hand Minerals and mates are not that necessary as water . So , it is water .
