So euphotic = the zone that is found on the ocean floor dysphotic = the zone where there is light but not enough for photosynthesis

The euphotic zone is the layer closer to the surface that receives enough light for photosynthesis to occur. The middle layer of the world's oceans receives only faint, filtered sunlight during the daytime. This is because the seawater absorbs the sunlight. This barely-lit ocean layer is called the twilight zone or the disphotic zone (disphotic means "poorly lit" in Greek) The benthic zone is the ecological region at the lowest level of a body of water such as an ocean or a lake, including the sediment surface and some sub-surface layers.
