    |dw:1443764762782:dw| I mean does P have five valence? I get that P can have five orbitals instead of four so therefore 5 bonding electrons but that still doesn't work out to that eqn. (BTW the ticks are dots)

    We have 4 oxygens !!! But in ur 1st structure u have only 3 oxygens !

    yeah Phosphorus is in group 15. They have 5 valence electrons !!!!!!!!
