hey can somebody help me in proving this ,
v is a finite vector space and let u be a proper subspace , then show that u has a complementary subspace w, i.e v=u+w(direct sum)

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Find the book Linear Algebra Done Right, 2nd Edition by Sheldon Axler. On page 30 you'll find it. (Proposition 2.13) Search linear algebra done right pdf on Google, for example. I think first link will do.
