    So what would we plug into the formula for area?

    Area of 1st area is area of triangle with base 6 and height 5 Area of 2nd area is area of a triangle with base 6 and height 6 plus area of a rectangle with length 6 and width 4 Sum them all together to get final result. |dw:1444001918317:dw| That's it!

    You'll need to check my typos, but let me check $$ (1/2)6\times 4+6\times 4+(1/2)6\times 6= 12+24+18=54 $$
