a and c are definitely wrong. I remember in my English class last year the teacher told us that the lines were more of a formatting thing, its not the end of a thought like a period.

I'm not a genius at poems, but it seems to me that if you didn't pause at the end of the line the whole poem would sound like one long sentence.
