    That's ok ^_^ it took me a long while to remember this too xD P = Parenthesis - do everything inside the parenthesis first E = exponents - [perhaps you haven't learned these yet] M = Multiplication D = Division -- do these next, but M/D can be interchangable -- do them left to right example = 4 / 2 * 3 = 2 * 3 = 6 A = Addition S = subtraction -- same left to right idea as M/D, but after you do both M and D

What I just decribed above is the Order of Operations (Parenthsis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addtion, Subtraction) and next to them is a discription of what it does/what order specifically

can you help me Solve for the variable? 52(n) = 312

see how the 52 is attached to the "n" by multiplication? so if we want to get "n" alone, we have to Divide both sides by 52 to undo the multiplication

    so it would become n = 312 / 52

To solve for a variable, you want to see what is stopping the variable from being alone and then try to undo it so if 4 + n = 10 ^^ the adding a 4 is stopping the "n" from being alone and to undo the 4, you would subtract 4 from both sides
