    so: 6-a = 1/3 (9a - 18) \(\Large 6-a = \frac 13 (9a - 18) \) k so to start, can you please multiply both sides by 3

    ... u lost me? \(\Large 6-a = \frac 13 (9a - 18) \) \(\Large \color{red}3(6-a) = \color{red}3(\frac 13 (9a - 18)) \) \(\Large 18-3a = 9a - 18 \) ... yeah?

    hmmm... i get where ur going, but always type out the whole equation so we're on the same page tho yeah? so ur right, it's now 12a, beacuse \(\Large 18-3a = 9a - 18\) \(\Large 18-3a \color{blue}{+ 3a} = 9a \color{blue}{+ 3a} - 18\) \(\Large 18 = 12a - 18\)

    \(\Large 18 = 12a - 18\) \(\Large 18 \color{red}{+18}= 12a - 18\color{red}{+18}\) \(\Large 36 = 12a \)
