    Deforestation is solely a result of human activities. The google definition of deforestation: Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for other uses.

    "Biomes on Earth have exhibited changes throughout history that have been caused by a variety of factors." This is unnecessary information. Changes in climate have had little effect on the total amount of rain forest coverage.
