Members pay a 48 dollars membership fee each year. The literal equation c=48y+0.99n represented the total cost c for a person who is a member of the music club for y years and who downloads n song. Solve the equation for y.

    we dont just change operations ... we have to add or multiply or 'do the same thing' to both sides of the =sign

    48y, 48 is married to y (multiplication and marriage start with 'm') .. divorce the 48 ... divide both sides by 48
