Piece wise defined form of function
N(x) = 20  x5
N(x) = ( ax + b x >= 5
cx + d x< 5
find a,b,c,d
So far i've come up with 1x 5 >= 5
1x+5 < 5
But its not making sense and Im stuck. Any thoughts?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1by splitting the function at the vertex, we are piecing together the absolute value portion let (x5) be positive 20 (x5) let (x5) be negative 20 (x5) to define which side is which ... let x=0 to see which piece matches the original setup

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.120x+5 20+x5 when x=0; 20  5 = 15; and since 0<5 this piece conforms to when x<5
