the easiest way to do this is to rearrange your equation into the 'slope intercept form' it need to look like y=mx+b so starting with 6x + 4y = 8 first subtract 6x from each side of the equation. If you post your result here I will help with the next step...
|dw:1446670204164:dw| this good?
i tried ;v;
oh so we are suppose to find the answer on the chart and whatever number that is we pick line A or B or C...etc i get that but the problem solving part is hard :I
I am trying to guide you the method above is the best way to get there - if you just want to guess then fine Have another try at this: starting with 6x + 4y = 8 first subtract 6x from each side of the equation.
what happened to the 8 from the right side?
i didnt think you could do anything because 6 has the variable x and i thought you cant do anything when one has a variable and one number doesnt have one.
so write that in a simpler way...
Oh, I see. But it looks like you already wrote it out for me.
but it needs simplifying - you can remove the x terms from the LEFT side
Oh,|dw:1446670922834:dw| like this @MrNood
no what is 6x-6x?
0x? or just x
if you have something and you take away the same something what is left?
so if oyu have 6x and you subtract 6x what is left?
nothing just 0
ok so what is nothing + 4y? hence what is 6x-6x+4y?
OK good so now we go back to the equation: |dw:1446671407011:dw| OK NOw divide both sides by 4 so you get y on its own on the left....
divide by 4 on both sides: |dw:1446671570807:dw|
I'm sorry - it is clear that oyu don't have the background skills to do this question you need to revise how to arrange equations you need tot make your original equation look like y = mx + b i.e. get y ON ITS OWN on the left and an expression with x on the right I can give you the answer - bit that won't get you anywhere. There is no point in carrying on if you cannot do division what is 4y/4 what is (-6x+8)/4
|dw:1446671934028:dw| im trying|dw:1446671985815:dw|
But I feel like its just 4
Also, if I am that difficult to teach, I'm sorry. I don't have anything to say...just thanks for taking the time out for helping me : /
oh wait its line D
"oh wait its line D" magic?
yesh it is \[MAGIC\] http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+6x+%2B+4y+%3D+8
