@ksanka I dont get it xD

the easiest way to do this is to rearrange your equation into the 'slope intercept form' it need to look like y=mx+b so starting with 6x + 4y = 8 first subtract 6x from each side of the equation. If you post your result here I will help with the next step...

oh so we are suppose to find the answer on the chart and whatever number that is we pick line A or B or C...etc i get that but the problem solving part is hard :I

I am trying to guide you the method above is the best way to get there - if you just want to guess then fine Have another try at this: starting with 6x + 4y = 8 first subtract 6x from each side of the equation.

This is what i got so far.

what happened to the 8 from the right side?

i didnt think you could do anything because 6 has the variable x and i thought you cant do anything when one has a variable and one number doesnt have one.

so write that in a simpler way...

Oh, I see. But it looks like you already wrote it out for me.
MrNood

but it needs simplifying - you can remove the x terms from the LEFT side

no what is 6x-6x?

if you have something and you take away the same something what is left?
gabbyalicorn
  • gabbyalicorn
nothing
MrNood
  • MrNood
so if oyu have 6x and you subtract 6x what is left?
gabbyalicorn
  • gabbyalicorn
nothing just 0
MrNood
  • MrNood
ok so what is nothing + 4y? hence what is 6x-6x+4y?
gabbyalicorn
  • gabbyalicorn
just 4y?
MrNood

OK good so now we go back to the equation: |dw:1446671407011:dw| OK NOw divide both sides by 4 so you get y on its own on the left....

I'm sorry - it is clear that oyu don't have the background skills to do this question you need to revise how to arrange equations you need tot make your original equation look like y = mx + b i.e. get y ON ITS OWN on the left and an expression with x on the right I can give you the answer - bit that won't get you anywhere. There is no point in carrying on if you cannot do division what is 4y/4 what is (-6x+8)/4
