the top is 4x+8 which is 4(x+2) as long as (x+2) doesn't occur in the denominator then we don't have to worry about holes and the only thing we will have from the bottom being 0 is vertical asymtpotes so factor x^2+3x-4 and set to equal to 0 and solve for x
