@Nnesha ah okay I totally get it now.. thank you

let me know if you have any question :=)
Nnesha
  • Nnesha
oh wait that wouldn't work substitute `x for 0` to find y-intercept and substitute y for 0 to find x-intercept

@Nnesha oh for this question do i explain it or do i plot it on the graph?

the intercepts are points where the line(graph) cuts the x and y axis x intercept=point where graph cuts x axis y inter..=point where graph cuts y axis if u have the graph then just look at the points where the line cuts the x and y axis and they'll be ur intercepts if u want to find out intercepts theoretically then - we know that at the point where the graph will cut x axis the y cordinate will be 0 so put y=0 in the equation of ur line and get x this x is ur x intercept similarly the point where the graph cuts y axis ...x cordinate of that point will be 0 so put x=0 in eq and get y this will be your y intercept

other way to find the x and y intercepts theoretically is- if u have any equation like this- \[ax+by+c=0\] then x intercept will be= -c/a y intercept will be= -c/b

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @celinegirl @Nnesha oh for this question do i explain it or do i plot it on the graph? \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) to find ` y-intercept` substitute x for 0 ( y-intercept is a point where line intersect y-axis when `x=0`) for `x-intercpet` substitute y for 0

ohh i see what u mean yes you have to explain it they gave you different and graph and different equation

@Nnesha ahh okay now I see.

@Nnesha so this would be the answer........ to find y-intercept substitute x for 0 ( y-intercept is a point where line intersect y-axis when x=0) for x-intercpet substitute y for 0

yes that's how we should find x/y-intercept from given equation you can convert em to ur own words
