nuclear energy generates electricity by converting the energy from uranium atoms into electricity. the energy from the uranium atoms are released when they spilt in a process called nuclear fission. this energy is then used to heat water which creates steam. the steam then turns the turbines, this kinetic energy is then turned into chemical energy by the generators. hope it helped :)
