Example. \(\large\color{black}{ \displaystyle 8\cdot x+5 =\sqrt{19}\cdot x }\) \(\large\color{black}{ \displaystyle 8\cdot x-\sqrt{19}\cdot x+5 =0 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ \displaystyle (8-\sqrt{19})\cdot x+5 =0 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ \displaystyle (87-\sqrt{19})\cdot x=-5 }\) \(\large\color{black}{ \displaystyle x=-5/(8-\sqrt{19}) }\)

did u factor
SolomonZelman
  • SolomonZelman
I subtracted the (√19)•x, then I factored the first two things out of x, then subtracted five from both sides, then divided by 8-(√19), {or by x's coefficient}, on both sides.
