Is Cake Healthy For Your lifestyle? Most people think cake and other breads are not good for you, do you agree? If you do, you're in the wrong place. We will have to look deeper than just the ingredients, but what the ingredients really are and how they effect your lifestyle. First, the main ingredients in most breads are; flour, water, salt, eggs, sugar, yeast, and fat. Let's look at the fats first. The fats consist of butter, oil and shortening. Yes, these can be a bit un-healthy, but our bodies need fat, if you look at today's society young men and women are starving themselves literally to death, we just need more fats in our bodies. These fats help you grow and mentally develop quicker too. Some children are born underweight, and need to eat fats. Yes, obesity may be a common problem today but that isn't because of fats, it's because of how fats are being used. It's like a drug, prescription medications are ok, but once you over use them you become pulled in and it's your own fault. Now we can look at yeast, sugar, and a bit of salt. Sugar activates the yeast, and salt inactivates it. Both sugar and salt are needed to give flavor to the bread. Yeast has many benefits, it has vitamins and amino acids, which in fact are good for your body. Yeast has a crucial role in our diet. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, proteins are very important to our bodies. A large amount of our cells, muscles, and tissue are made of amino acids. Amino acids do many things for our bodies such as giving our cells their structure. We can now look at salt alone. Our bodies need salt to maintain the proper stomach. Stomach acid is hydrochloric acid and sodium chloride, which is salt. Proper stomach acid levels are absolutely foundational for good digestion. 90% of Americans have low stomach acid. Salt also lowers adrenaline spikes. Adrenaline is a necessary stress hormone, but adrenaline is stress, and too much stress can take a bad toll on our bodies. Salt also improves sleep quality. Just like I said before it lowers stress which causes you to get better sleep. Salt has many great qualities that are needed for our bodies. Now let's look at flour and water. Water is one of the most important pieces in the puzzle of cake; water combines everything together. It hydrates and dissolves yeast. You can mix water with flour to form gluten. Most people think gluten is very bad for your diet, but it actually plays a crucial part in it. First we have to look at what gluten actually is. Gluten is a sticky, stretchable protein found in grains like wheat, barley, oats, and rye. It is formed during the kneading process, gluten chains create a matrix that create carbon dioxide bubbles produced by the fermenting yeast. This is what gives bread it's chewiness, pizza dough it's stretchiness, and acts as a thickening ingredient in dozens of products from salad dressing to soy sauce. Finally, we can look at eggs. Eggs make the bread richer and it helps provide it's color and volume. Eggs are loaded with high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, good fats, and various trace nutrients. Just like yeast, eggs also have amino acids. Eggs have lots of choline, which is an important nutrient for the brain. In all eggs have a lot of protein in them. All in all, Cake and breads are really good for you, they have many benefits. I think it is beautiful how our bodies work and how God created them. I have told you about amino acids, proteins, how good gluten is and more. If you still don't believe that cake or any bread is good for you, then in the words of Marie Antoinette " let them eat cake. I really like your essay. My favorite part is the 1st paragraph. I can't agree that gluten is good for everyone though, because I am allergic to it.
Your essay is perfect honestly. It feels like I actually wrote it myself! I understood everything perfectly. If you want to throw in just one interesting fact about the gluten, it could be this. Yes, gluten CAN be good for everybody but then there are people who have Celiac Disease which is a prime allergy OF gluten. The reason people have this allergy to gluten is because of the way it is grown, such as wheat, barely and so forth. Its grown wrong and in unhealthy ways. You don't have to add that, but it might be interesting to throw in. I've got Celiac myself which is the reason I know. Over all, good job though! :)
