What caozeyuan was referring to was what the f(x) value would be in the new function when the x was 1.

So my answer would be (1,6) ? ;-;

Yes, but do you understand why that is?

because it was given ? >< "When x is one" and x always comes before y

Well, I mean do you understand the process used to get to the answer?

No;-;

Well we knew that for the function f(x), there was the point (1,9). That means with an x of one, you get a y of 9. This means that the function is most likely f(x)=9x. So when the function is 2/3 of that it would be \(\large \sf \frac{2}{3} f(x)=\frac{2}{3} \times 9x=6x\) which means that the new function is f(x)=6x, so when x=1, that means y=6.
