This should help you ^_^ http://i.imgur.com/UOhixD4.png
Subtract 5 from both sides which gives you 3y < 5 Then divide both sides by 3 and you'd get y < ?? (Hint: it will be a fraction)
Here is a website to help: https://mathway.com/ P.S. Your answere is y<5/3
@lalovela Don't give direct answers..
@xMissAlyCatx medal for medal? ^_^
Of course my dearest @just_one_last_goodbye <3
Thank you ^_^
it has to be an equality and im new to this stuff
It is an inequality. All you need to do is subtract 5 from 3y + 5 and subtract 5 from 10 which gives you 3y < 5 and then you divide 3y and 5 by 3.. so you'd get y < __?__
It fine! You will get the hang of it. ; )
well can someone walk me through this
im new at it
so first get y by its self
and how exactly do u do that
3y+5 -3 -3 --- --- y 2
Ugh im feeling slow today
3y+5 -3 -3 --- --- y = 2
@LegendaryClasher I would give you a medal but I already gave one to the goodbye person
my bad it says answer in mixed number
@xMissAlyCatx you dont subtract five you get the variable by itself that is not haow yo udo it
Yes it is? That's how I've always done it to get it by itself..
You cannot subtract 3 from 3y .. they are multiplied together, you would have to divide them.
jeez now who should i listen to?
Once you get 5/3 as a fraction, all you need to do is convert it into a mixed number.. so to do that you figure out how many times 5 goes into 3 (which is 1 time) so you have 1 and 2/3 because you're subtracting 3 from 5 which is 2 (that's how much you have left over)..
thank u so much ^
You're very welcome. Glad I could be of assistance. :)
Don't forget to thank @LegendaryClasher for helping too! ^-^
