I find myself wondering whether you and I worked on this problem earlier today. Please use proper math notation for showing exponentiation: \[2^x\]

If I give you function f(x) and ask you to write function g(x)=f(x)+2, the graphs will be different. How and why?

@mathmale yes i think so but but it wouldn't let me return to the question after i posted a comment.. so. Is it not A?
mathmale
  • mathmale
No, it's not A. Sorry. I'd suggest we work thru this question again so that you'll know next time how to answer similar questions.

Just so that you know: The topic of this problem is "horizontal and vertical translations of graphs."

@mathmale sorry ha ive been working on this assignment all day and im a little tired. I meant C... to many math problems in my head
celinegirl
  • celinegirl
im pretty sure thats the answer

I'm sympathetic, but "pretty sure that's the answer" doesn't cut it in math. Given f(x), which has a graph, writing f(x)+2 will move the whole graph of f(x) upward by 2 units. Try again. Explain your answer choice.

@mathmale em well considering that I wont be using this in life that is the best I got. Im going to go with C because I have had a long day. Thank you
