Mitochondria are found in both plants and animals while chloroplasts are only found among plant life. Both possess a bilayered membrane and use electron carriers. Both are considered energy production processes, and at some point, both are able to produce NADP. However, these two structures vary widely. Mitochondria are well noted for their christae while chloroplasts are noted for their grana, thykaloids, and stroma. Mitochondria catabolize glucose into metabolites that drive ATP production through the citric acid (Krebs) cycle while chloroplasts produce glucose from light, carbon dioxide, and water as well as use glycolysis to produce ATP. These productive organelles are, in fact, widely different, but they still share common themes without doubt. That being said, the most important thing to note is that these two tiny structures are mostly responsible for making all forms of life lively.
