Number 6 right?
anonymous
  • anonymous
Yep.
anonymous
  • anonymous
So at first you divide the shape into two shapes to make it easier. The top a rectangle and the botttom a triangle
anonymous
  • anonymous
then you get the are of the rectangle and them the triangle
anonymous
  • anonymous
I did that... but I don't think I did it correctly...
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
I like what you did with the rectangle, that's good. When you got to the triangle part, you missed just one step
anonymous
  • anonymous
Oh. What step did I miss ?
anonymous
  • anonymous
rectangle=90 ft^2 triangle=180 ft^2
anonymous
  • anonymous
I got both of those answers for the rectangle and triangle...
anonymous
  • anonymous
you forgot to subtract 6 from 24 to find the triangle and then input to formula
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
When you did the base, you put 15 * 24, right? That 24 was for the total length (The triangle and rectangle), you just needed the triangle
anonymous
  • anonymous
triangle=135
anonymous
  • anonymous
Oh.
anonymous
  • anonymous
so total=225 C)
anonymous
  • anonymous
I'm confused on the part with the 24 and 6....
anonymous
  • anonymous
ou know your getting the are for only the triangle
anonymous
  • anonymous
Oh. I didn't know that...
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
Oh for that, so you just wanted the triangle right? The 24 is both the rectangle and the triangle, as the 6 is just the rectangle Triangle and rectangle - rectangle = triangle
anonymous
  • anonymous
So... 24-6 ?
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
Yep, that will get you the triangle 24-6= triangle's height
anonymous
  • anonymous
oh.
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
So then you use that height for the triangle, and do the same steps you showed
anonymous
  • anonymous
Oh. I get it now. Thank you. :)
FortyTheRapper
  • FortyTheRapper
No problem!
