Recall the second step in the process to determine theme. Why did these events happen in the fable? this what my question asked it didn't ask subject
safyousuff97
  • safyousuff97
maybe thats the theme
anonymous
  • anonymous
it's the same as mine but the "second step" it tells you to recall is what i mean
anonymous
  • anonymous
"Identify the subject of the work. " is the second ste- oh the tehme
anonymous
  • anonymous
theme*
anonymous
  • anonymous
But wait if it's saying recall the second step to determine the theme that does not make any sence? mind my grammar
anonymous
  • anonymous
because the third question asks you "Recall the final step in the process to determine theme—use the events that happened in the fable and why they happened to infer the theme. Writing in complete sentences, identify the theme." so on the third step you determine the theme
safyousuff97
  • safyousuff97
what do u mean
safyousuff97
  • safyousuff97
wow i'm confused
anonymous
  • anonymous
Well if we find the theme on the third question what does it mean by "Identify the subject of the work. " on the second question
anonymous
  • anonymous
so if subject = theme then that makes no sence.

So my question basically is everyone reading this "Recall the second step in the process to determine theme." is what is is asking me and the second step is "Identify the subject of the work. " but what does it mean by subject?
anonymous
  • anonymous
@.TH3_M0NST3R.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Ah, okay. So the subject of a work is the topic of the work (aka writing). For example, if an article is about "The Benefits of Video Games," the subject would be what the benefits of video games are. I believe this is what it is asking.
anonymous
  • anonymous
So if the subject is the topic that really does not make sense mind my grammar because the final question asks you to "Recall the final step in the process to determine theme—use the events that happened in the fable and why they happened to infer the theme. Writing in complete sentences, identify the theme. " so if you are trying to figure out what the theme is on the third question why would it ask you the theme on the second question if you don't know the theme yet?
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
So, if I'm interpreting this correctly, in the second question it asks you to identify the theme. The third question asks you to state that theme and give examples as to why you believe this is the theme.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Sorry i had to go afk for a bit, but the third step states "Writing in complete sentences, identify the theme."
anonymous
  • anonymous
"Recall the final step in the process to determine theme—use the events that happened in the fable and why they happened to infer the theme. Writing in complete sentences, identify the theme." it states actually.
anonymous
  • anonymous
So basically the third step is asking me to identify the theme or figure out what it is
anonymous
  • anonymous
Not the second step .-.
anonymous
  • anonymous
the second step says "Recall the second step in the process to determine theme. In two to three sentences, explain why these events happened in the fable."
anonymous
  • anonymous
And the steps are "Identifying the Theme in Five Steps "
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Okay, so this is how you should format your response. 1) State what the final step in the process for finding the theme is. 2) State what you think the theme is. 3) Use examples from the fable to support your statement. 4) Write a conclusion (basically restating that you think the theme is so and so, and all the examples listed supports this.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Wait so i use all of those steps just on one question correct?
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Yes.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
What I gave to you is just an outline for how to format your response. I'm assuming this is an essay question.
anonymous
  • anonymous
it is a essay but i have a question so basically if thats just for me to format each essay (three of them) then why does the question under the essay have steps including 1-2-3 and the steps are "1. Summarize the plot by writing a one-sentence description for the exposition, the conflict, the rising action, the climax, the falling action, and the resolution. 2. Identify the subject of the work. 3. Identify the insight or truth that was learned about the subject. • How did the protagonist change? • What lesson did the protagonist learn from the resolution of the conflict? " so how exactly would i use the format with said questions/steps?
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Just follow each of those steps, answering them in order.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
However, remember that you always start an essay with a thesis, or topic statement. Then you always have a conclusion at the end.
anonymous
  • anonymous
step 2 "Identify the subject of the work." what's does subject mean... .-.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
The topic or main idea.
anonymous
  • anonymous
so basically, the "subject" of The City Mouse and the Country Mouse would be something along the lines of (Just saying a example here) Maybe luxuries are not the best or something along there.
anonymous
  • anonymous
so basically thats step 2?
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Correct.
anonymous
  • anonymous
But i still have a question, if step there litterally asks you (mind my grammar) to "identify the theme" why do i have to say the theme also in step two? if it does not specifically state it, so i'm basically solving what the theme is in step three but i also state it in step two?
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Well, step three is different.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Define how.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
3. Identify the insight or truth that was learned about the subject. • How did the protagonist change? • What lesson did the protagonist learn from the resolution of the conflict? So, it is asking you to identify what was learned about that topic, then explain how the protagonist changed and what lesson the protagonist learned from the resolution of the conflict.
anonymous
  • anonymous
The same topic as step two correct?
anonymous
  • anonymous
Hello? .-.
anonymous
  • anonymous
"So, it is asking you to identify what was learned about that topic" The same topic as step two correct? .-.
.TH3_M0NST3R.
  • .TH3_M0NST3R.
Correct.
