Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) of 1/6,7/12 Method 1: By Listing Multiples List out all multiples of each denominator, and find the first common one. 6 : 6,12 12 : 12 Therefore, the LCD is 12 Method 2: By Prime Factors List all prime factors of each denominator, and find the union of these primes. 6 : 2,3 12 : 2,2,3 Therefore, the LCD is 2×2×3=12 Make the denominators the same as the LCD 1×2/6×2 +7/12 Simplify. Denominators are now the same 2/12+7/12 Join the denominators 2+7/12 Simplify 9/12=?
