Expand vocabulary and enhance vocabulary. As a Latin student myself, you can see that the prefixes and roots of those two older languages are incorporated in multiple languages today, including English, Spanish, French, etc. It expands vocabulary since you can come up with a word in other languages easier while knowing Latin/Greek, rather than just English, or just French. In enhances comprehension because you understand what the prefixes/roots mean, so any word containing bits of those old words can be referring to that definition. For example, the Latin word 'laboro' means work. This is used in our English words "labor", "laboratory", "collaborate", etc.
