I chose mental illness as my human right issue because of Lennie in the book Of Mice And Men. With having ADHD in my family, it has made me realize for how long mental illness has been misunderstood. I know that ADHD is is not a severe mental illness but those with ADHD are still highly misunderstood. Im hoping to learn more about mental health issues through this paper. In the article it says “About a third also said they once were on the verge of a nervous breakdown or had another mental health problem.” The reason I picked this quote from the article “More Americans associating mental illness with violence” is because I feel like they want to have a nervous break down because a lot of people don’t understand the mental illness like ADHD or some other illness. They (the people) think its an excuse and the ones with the illness want to just breakdown because people can’t understand whats going on. In the article it says “The report said one million people committed suicide every year, while 10 to 20 million attempted to kill themselves.” The reason I picked this quote from the article “World Health Organization urges more attention to mental health problems” is because its sad that people have committed suicide and/or attempted it because they get bullied, made fun of and talked about. I don’t think its fair if they have a mental illness/ issue people should make fun of them to the point they harm themselves. Its not fair. In the article its says “Nevertheless, this is a complex concept and within multi-ethnic societies there will often be differentiated social status and access to rights for different ethnic and cultural groups ( Shaw, 1988).” This reason I picked this quote from the article from http://bjp.rcpsych.org/content/182/4/289.short, is because I’m scared this may be true. I think they are saying that people are so set in their groups and their perception of perfect that they may never try to look outside of it and understand someone with mental illness. I’m scared that this way of thinking may never be changed and that people with mental illness, no matter how severe or not, will continue to be lonely and misunderstood.

I chose mental illness as my human right issue because of Lennie in the book Of Mice And Men. Because of the ADHD running in my family, I have seen firsthand how mental illnesses can be misunderstood. I know that ADHD is not commonly seen as a severe mental illness, but those with ADHD are still highly misunderstood. I'm hoping to learn more about mental health issues through this paper. In the article, it says “About a third also said they once were on the verge of a nervous breakdown or had another mental health problem.” The reason I chose this quote from the article “More Americans associating mental illness with violence” is that I believe they are on the verge of a nervous breakdown because a lot of people don’t understand the mental illness like ADHD or some other illness. They (the people) believe it's an excuse and the ones with the illness want to just break down because people can’t understand what, exactly, is going on. In the article its says- “Nevertheless, this is a complex concept and within multi-ethnic societies there will often be differentiated social status and access to rights for different ethnic and cultural groups." -(Shaw,1988), http://bjp.rcpsych.org/content/182/4/289.short The reason I picked this quote is the fact that I’m scared this may be true. I believe what they are saying is that people are so set in their groups and their perception of perfection, that they may never try to look past that and understand someone with a mental illness. I’m scared that this way of thinking may never be changed and that people with mental illnesses, no matter how severe, will continue to be lonely and misunderstood.

Okay, so I'm not writing the paragraph for you, but I organized and proofread the rest of your paper.

Oh, also, Of Mice and Men needs to be italicised.

And for that second paragraph, replace "it" with the author of the article.
