Did you have anything as a start?
Howard-Wolowitz
  • Howard-Wolowitz
yes I think this: a) no - this is a stratified random sample b) yes - each possible sample of 80 students is equally likely to be selected c) no - cluster sample

Random digit table does guarantee (or considered to guarantee) that in each class each member has equal change to be selected. And then you kow that each class has equal probability.

I would think that for \( a) \) it is justified

Ok so you think a) is justified, do you agree with my other answers
SolomonZelman
  • SolomonZelman
Oh, no, your answer for "a)" is correct, and as you said it is stratified, meaning not random. (I assume we both get precisely what this means)
SolomonZelman
  • SolomonZelman
b) is for sure justified. that is the most fair of all.
SolomonZelman
  • SolomonZelman
I said that a) is justofoed, but then I realized that it is not, because it is simple RS, it is stratified RS.

I said the same things you've said so far basically

yes, I am just agreeing, because I re-checked.

I am looking at c) ...
SolomonZelman
  • SolomonZelman
I am not sure if c) is cluster sampling, but if the only criterea that exists is that each individual has equal chance to be selected, then c) also seems to be justified. I just don't really know these things about sampling so well...
